  • Pharmacy Operations

    • Provides quality services in a safe, efficient, effective, and timely manner meeting all applicable hospital, regulatory, licensure, and accrediting regulations

    • Screens and refers all incoming calls and department visitors to facilitate accurate and timely departmental communications and ensure that the department is presented in a positive manner

    • Recognizes the names and indications of commonly prescribed medications

    • Accurately fills medication kits for various hospital departments

    • Demonstrates competency in delivering medications to the nursing floors

    • Accurately refills medications and conducts inventory of Pyxis MedStations

    • Accurately loads and unloads medications to/from the Pyxis MedStations as directed by the pharmacist in charge

    • Accurately records refrigerator temperature on the log daily

    • Conducts monthly floor inspection

    • Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, organized, and well stocked as expected

    • Properly handles and disposes expired medications.

    • Carries out special projects or assignments as directed by management

    • Assists in controlling undue expenditure of resources

 

  • IV Preparation

    • Demonstrates familiarity and understanding of IV preparation requirements

    • Demonstrates the proper technique for IV preparation or compounding a sterile product

    • Prepares all IV admixtures following the compounded sterile products guidelines.

    • Maintains an adequate supply of components used for IV admixtures

    • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends solutions to problems as needed.
